EXPLORE THE STORY!

Traditionally, after the group stage of the Champions League, the new ball valid for the knockout stages is presented, which is similarly painted with the same color as the blue ball with an inverted design. The white star panels contrast with the bright red graphic print covering the rest of the ball. A three-level digital "glitch" graphic was created, which gives the ball a bold modern look.

The most memorable matches of the knockout stage were clearly the semi-finals. Barcelona's Messi went asleep with a 3-0 final result after the first round with a huge free-kick goal, just as Ajax's youngsters also rested with a 0-1 away advantage. However, Origi's famous corner kick the Reds won 4-3 on aggregate, while the Spurs team reached the final with a 3-2 away victory.

The final entered the history books as one of the most boring of all time. Salah's early penalty goal shook the Tottenham players and the second goal scored by Origi to make it 2-0. Liverpool won their 6th Champions League trophy, placing them in 3rd place on the all-time list, behind Real Madrid and AC Milan.
