The venue for the 2022/2023 season's Champions League final will be the city of Istanbul, marking its third time as the designated host after 2020 and 2021. It is worth adding that the previous two finals did not take place there due to the pandemic.

Considering that the final will once again be in Istanbul, the designers had to dig quite deep to create another interesting design for the ball's white panels. Drawing from the colors of the ball used in the 2004/2005 UEFA Champions League final in Istanbul, the royal blue background, along with gold and silver silhouettes, pays tribute to one of the most exciting comebacks in the history of the competition. The gold details represent the city's history and culture, while the silver markings symbolize the coveted Champions League trophy.

Although the knockout stage has not yet concluded—as the quarter-finals are up next—the round of 16 has already turned out to be quite a goal-fest. We are thinking here of Manchester City's 7-0 victory, or the repeat of last year's final clash between Real Madrid and Liverpool, which concluded with a 6-2 final aggregate score. For the first time in a long while, 3 of the 8 remaining teams are from Serie A, as Napoli, Inter, and AC Milan are all among the best.

The final will be held at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium, which hosted perhaps the most memorable Champions League clash of all time, resulting in Liverpool's success against AC Milan. The 2023 final was also played by a Milanese squad, Internazionale—who claimed victory in 2010—and Manchester City, who were playing in the first Champions League final in their history. The first half of the match did not offer much excitement, but in the second half, a goal from Rodri gave the Sky Blues the lead and ultimately won them the encounter.
